Anawangin, Zamables is a virgin beach, a crescent shaped cove in San Antonio, Zambales, Philippines. A camping site and a good place to chill in with your friends and relatives.
Day 1 - Saturday
I and my friends decided to go in Anawangin, Zambales for 3 days and 2 nights. A part of it, me and my girlfriend celebrates our 10th month too so it is really exciting. Unfortunately, we have a shift that night and ended for us to commute alone. (Yes, me and just my partner) but it's not a problem cause 'twas a happy trip. Our travel starts at 10 am from Boni, Mandaluyong. We rode a bus going to Victory Liner Cubao Terminal. When we reached Victory Liner Cubao, all buses heading to Zambales already leaved. Since we are so late, we rode an Olongapo bus instead. A bit expensive than riding a one way bus.
Victory Liner Cubao Trip Schedule:
The bus stopped at Victory Liner Terminal in Olongapo. From Olongapo terminal, we rode again a bus going to Zambales.
Take note: Do not ride a non-aircon bus. 'Cause first, the travel time from Olongapo to Zambales is approximately 2 hours. Second, I'm sure you'll not love how you inhale and exhale smoke coming from vehicles. Lastly, the difference of the fare is just 10 pesos. Not a big deal. Right?
So, while waiting for the bus to be fully accommodated. We asked the conductor to drop us in San Antonio. In San Antonio, we rode a tricycle going to Purok 1, Pundakit for 30 pesos each. In Pundakit, we rode a boat going to Anawangin Cove. The boat ride is 350 pesos per head.
350 pesos is there special rate. If you guys want to go there as a group, don't worry they give discounts. :)
We came there at exactly 4pm. (Long trip. ughhh!) We assembled our tent, eat, took pictures and take a nap. When I woke up, my friends have already cooked our dinner (Sinigang na baboy) and setting up a bonfire for our drinking session. The place is so cold and quiet. It feels like you don't wanna go back to Manila. (Well, if there is electricity, I will) Hahaha! So, we ate and completed the night with drinks.
Day 2 - Sunday
The sunrise is approaching. Good Morning! Fried rice, egg and hotdog for breakfast. Yummy! We cooked our food using a portable gas stove. It is more convenient than setting up a fire.
Tip: You can buy that portable gas stove in Ace Hardware for 699 pesos with free 3 bottles of butane.
After we ate, we took some pictures, swim and stroll around. I am not really feeling well that time so I slept again in the afternoon. I’m sure that my friends enjoy the most out of it while I was asleep. When I woke up, it is already 2 am. I look around, only our group and the other group far from us are the only people in the island. Creepy, right? Huhu.
Day 3 -Monday
Our boatman picked us up at exactly 10 am. We decided to spend the rest of the afternoon in Pundakit since cottages are only 100 pesos. We take a plunge in the beach and drink some beer afterwards. The waves our so big and it was fun! (To be honest, I have enjoyed more in Pundakit than Anawangin, Zambales)
Below are some of the pictures I took. Enjoy! :)
