A travelers confession.: Wawa Dam, Montalban Rizal.

A day tour at Wawa Dam.

I and my friends planned this trip way back 2013. Luckily, the plan pushed through after few months of waiting. Since we are all from Mandaluyong, we need to come there as early as we can. (you know weather is not friendly in the afternoon.) Good thing, my girlfriend is just living near Montalban so we spend the rest of the night there.

Saturday 3/2/14

We all woke up at 6 am. All backs are packed. All foods are cooked. Lets do this! We are now ready to go! From Violago Homes Quezon City, we rode a jeep heading to Montalban, Palengke. From there, we rode a tricycle going to Wawa Dam. Tricycles going to Wawa Dam has their own (TODA) line near Palengke. The travel time was approximately 1 hour from Quezon City and 2 hours from Mandaluyong. You can also ride a jeep for 1o pesos. The sign of the jeep should be Wawa Dam - Kasiglahan.

Before we reached the Dam, we paid 2 pesos for the entrance. It is more like an environmental fee. Cottage ranges from 100 to 150 pesos, depending on the season. Well, we visited the place on a peak season that’s why we paid 150 pesos or we just not really good in making "tawad" hahaha! Anyway, the place is not fully developed so expect an uneven road.

If you are a biker, you can bring your own bike and have fun biking on their trails. For me, the area was fine; not that crowdy and has lots of store. If i'm going to rate the place, I would give a 7 out of 10. It was based on my experience but then we all have our own perception. Take time to visit Wawa Dam, I’m sure you’ll love this place!
